My rig

Today I am going to give you an idea of what time of road bike I am riding.  Sometime later I will discuss my time trial aka tt, mountain and cross bikes.

I am currently riding a Warp9 full carbon frame with a Campagnolo drive-train and shifters.  I have Zeus 46cm carbon bars with a Thompson Elite X4 stem connected to an FSA headset and Zeus ZICCS carbon fork. I have several different sets of wheels carbon and aluminum.  The ones in the photo are Token 80mm carbon.

The cranks are 175mm Campagnolo Chorus connected to a pair of LOOK KEO pedals The front and rear derailleurs are Campy Chorus well.  I use a standard 11 x 23 Campy cassette stack in the back.  To help out with braking and shifting I am using a set of Yokozuna shifter and brake cables(I really love them).  This has been a wonderful bike.  I have been riding it since the first part of this May after hanging up the old Bianchi 928 Carbon that has some questionable creases in the frame where the head tube joined with the down tube.  I am pretty sure that this was due to some pretty heavy crashes it sustained over 4 years of racing.. I was not able to get Bianchi to offer any type of warranty coverage.  I really loved that bike too.  Here is a photo.
Both of these frames are 60cm as I am 6'2" and not a light fella eg; SuperFat.  I have found the Warp9 to be super responsive and really, really stiff when compared to the Bianchi and lighter too.  One of the issues I had with the Bianchi was that the cable stops on the top tube had corroded so severely from being sweat on year after year that they had begun to pull almost completely away from the frame.  In fact the rear cable stop on the top tube was held in place with a zip-tie.  I had no luck in getting any warranty satisfaction out of Bianchi with this either.  Although I am a really big fan of Bianchi products I would make sure you get any warranty info in writing from a reputable dealer before spending the amount of cash that it takes to purchase this type of bike.  You may want to mention the cable stop issue and make sure that it would be covered.  If any more details are wanted please feel free to leave comments and I will reply as soon as I get a chance.

Tomorrow I'll spend some time talking wheels including some of the pros and cons of specific manufacturers that I have ridden and the results I have seen and costs involved.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog,

May your wheels always be true,
the wind always at your back and
the road always just slightly downhill.

Ciao,

SuperFat
