Friday aka Alp d'Huez day!!!

Today's stage of the tour was awesome.  I was able to follow it on EuroSport.  It is amazing the effort and the suffering that competitive cyclists are willing to put themselves through.  I am not a climber by any means but sometimes I am able to find the right rhythm on the right climb and find myself doing much better than I should.  I have found that it is easier if I concentrate on something other than the screaming, fiery pain in my legs and lungs.  Since I am SuperFat I have been working on reducing the amount of weight that I have to slog up the climbs on my lightweight carbon steed.  I honestly do not give any cu-dose to any of the so called "diet plans."  My feeling on the matter is it all comes down to burning up more than you put in and not eating crap.  For those of us that are not on the lighter side we have to pay closer attention to what we put in our bodies..I mean look...we/ I didn't get fat by not watching what we eat.  If you are going to eat don't waste those calories.  Make them count.  Try to stay away from anything white be it bread, rice, potatoes...Look for dark carbs including whole grains and sweet potatoes.  I am trying..and it's not easy for this SuperFat cyclist.

PezCycling News had great coverage of the tour and some good photos too.  They also have some really good training tools in their "ToolBox" check them out. www.pezcyclingnews.com .  The "Daily distractions" are always nice too.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the time trial tomorrow as well as being able to get back out on my own rig and lay waste to some pavement now that my back is feeling itself again.

Good luck and feel free to post any questions or opinions about SuperFat.

May your wheels always be true,
the wind always at your back and
the road always just slightly downhill.

Ciao,

SuperFat
