Went to Union City, GA this weekend to do the
road race part of the Union City Mayor's Race. It was fun to watch the
criteriums on Saturday. In hind-site I really should have done those.
Sunday's road race was allot hillier than what I would have expected in
that part of Georgia but I lined up and rolled out with my group and not
too long after we got into the serious climbs I found myself off the
back of the main group. This did not bother me too much as I knew I am
not in real "race shape" my any stretch of the imagination. I was able
to hang in there with results that I was fairly happy with...all things
considered. I finished a few minutes behind my group and am happy to
say that the CAT5 group that started 5 minutes behind me did not catch
up to me thank God. All in all a good training day and it was good to
be back out on the road again. I've got a long way to go before I am
back to where I need to be to get anywhere near a podium again but I am
optimistic and finally again well motivated to get there.
May your wheels always be true,
the wind always at your back and
the road always just slightly downhill.
Ciao,
SuperFat
